Child’s Crossing Eyes

What does it mean if my child’s eyes are crossing?

Strabismus, often called “lazy eye”, is a condition in which the eyes are not properly aligned. Strabismus is treated with glasses, patching, and occasionally surgery. It could be a problem with the eyeball, eye muscles, or associated nerves. Strabismus is normal in infants up to 4 months of age. After that, evaluation by an ophthalmologist is needed.
